As a waste processor or recycling company, you are always looking for ways to recover more value from waste. Insus is here to help. We offer an efficient solution for processing PIR- and PUR-containing (sandwich) panels. Instead of sending these materials to landfill or incineration, we recycle them into raw materials that can be used again.
To work together with Insus, we ask you to collect PIR and PUR panels separately. You can then deliver them to Insus periodically, where we convert them into new raw materials. This is done using an innovative recycling process in our fully electric and energy-efficient facility, in compliance with applicable environmental legislation.
We accept all types and brands of sandwich panels, as long as they still have their steel facing. Panels with polyester or mineral wool are not accepted.
All types and brands of sandwich doors can be returned, provided they still have their steel or aluminium facing. Panels with polyester or mineral wool are not accepted.
Insus insulation boards and installation or cutting waste can always be returned. For other brands, we are happy to assess possibilities on a project basis. Contact us to discuss options.
Panels from cold rooms or refrigerated trailers also contain PU rigid foam. All types and brands can be returned for recycling.
Do you use polyurethane in industrial production processes? We would be happy to explore whether your residual streams can be recycled. Contact us to discuss collection agreements and logistics support.
Insulated boilers also contain PU rigid foam. We recycle boilers of all brands in cooperation with Refurn. Boilers can only be delivered via Refurn.

Insus processes PIR and PUR panels in accordance with strict national and European legislation and regulations, including the Dutch Environmental Management Act and the F-gas Regulation. We record all materials we accept in detail and can provide reports that help you demonstrate that these material streams have been processed and recycled in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations.

Insulation materials contain blowing agents such as pentane and (H)CFCs. We capture the pentane and reuse it within our production process. (H)CFCs from older panels can no longer be used in new insulation. These gases are safely captured and destroyed, preventing them from being released into the atmosphere.
Using innovative chemical recycling techniques, we convert PU rigid foam into polyol, a raw material for new insulation products.
We separate the steel or aluminium facing from (sandwich) panels. After thorough cleaning, these metals are suitable for reuse in industrial applications. Insus supplies them back to recycling companies and metal processors.
Using advanced sorting technologies, we automatically remove residual materials such as wood, rubber and acrylic from the waste stream. These separated materials are then processed by specialised recycling companies to ensure the highest possible level of recycling and reuse.

The collection and recycling of PU rigid foam require compliance with strict legislation due to hazardous substances and flammability. Insus fully complies with national and European environmental regulations.
You don’t throw away what still has value. And you don’t use more than necessary. This belief is deeply rooted in our DNA. We are driven by raw materials and committed to eliminating waste.
