PIR and PUR materials become available at various points in the chain: on construction sites, during demolition and renovation projects, at waste processors or in production processes. Insus helps companies recycle these materials and reuse them as valuable raw materials.

WE WORK TOWARDS A CLOSED LOOP IN 3 STEPS
#1 Collection
Deliver your PIR and PUR (sandwich) panels to Insus. You can also collect them in a container and have us pick them up.
#2 Processing
Insus carefully dismantles all materials. We separate and clean metals, polyurethane and other residual streams. Released gases are captured.
#3 Reuse
The polyurethane is processed into a raw material that can be reused, including in the production of insulation materials. The gases released during the recycling process are safely captured and processed in a controlled manner.
What do we accept?
We can already recycle many materials containing PIR and PUR. To preserve valuable raw materials for reuse as effectively as possible, we have an acceptance policy in place. Below you can see which materials we accept:
We accept all types and brands of sandwich panels, as long as they still have their steel facing. Panels with polyester or mineral wool are not accepted.
All types and brands of sandwich doors can be returned, as long as they still have their steel or aluminium facing. Panels with polyester or mineral wool are not accepted.
Insus insulation boards and installation or cutting waste can always be returned. For other brands, we are happy to assess possibilities on a project basis. Contact us to discuss options.
Panels from cold rooms or refrigerated trailers also contain PU rigid foam. All types and brands can be returned for recycling.
Do you use polyurethane in industrial production processes? We are happy to explore whether your residual streams can be recycled. Contact us to discuss collection contracts and logistics support.
Insulated boilers also contain PU rigid foam. We recycle boilers of all brands in cooperation with Refurn. Boilers can only be delivered via Refurn.
PIONEERING GREEN
Insus has developed a unique process to separate PIR and PUR materials into individual raw material streams that can be reused. We do this in accordance with the strictest environmental standards, preserving the maximum value of these raw materials.
Every year, we can process up to 20,000 tonnes of PIR and PUR materials into raw materials for new applications. This includes not only materials from our own supply chain, but also PIR and PUR residual streams from other organisations. All recycling takes place in a fully electric and energy-efficient facility, where energy from the recycling process is recovered. In this way, we help keep valuable raw materials available for longer.

Deliver your way
Self-delivery
You can deliver materials every working day from 07:00 to 17:00 at our recycling facility in Duiven. Please note: request a quote and waste stream number in advance. Prefer a closer location? You can find collection points from our partners throughout the Netherlands.
Collection service
Collect demolition, installation or production waste in an Insus 40 m³ container. Once full, we will collect it and, if desired, replace it with a new one. Contact us to request a container.
Tailored solution
Do you have long sandwich panels, cold trailers or cold rooms that do not fit in a container? A large demolition or renovation project? Or a factory with continuous waste streams? We will work with you to find the right solution.
